Hmmmmm
I didn’t seem to work as advertised, the printer was all over the place and it just wouldn’t work properly, the probe wouldn’t adjust the z height. Possibly just my machine but that was my experience with it. I swapped to an older one and it worked again. I was trying new parts, I don’t have photos because at the time I needed my machine to work, so I didnt stop to take pics
It's a Prusa part, it just works
PrintedSolid shipped fast and the price was great.
PINDA 1 prove works great!
Overall, the PINDA 1 bed level sensor works great! I recently built a clone of the Prusa i3 mk2, which also uses the mk42 heated bed and miniRambo 1.3 which can be bought from PrintedSolid.com. People can build a cheaper clone of this printer, and include cheaper level sensors if that’s what you’re after; but I wanted my clone to work identical to the real thing. By using the miniRambo and mk42, I am able to run the actual Prusa i3 mk2 firmware. Here is where the PINDA 1 shines: I have found it is more sensitive then other 8mm inductive sensors you can get from Amazon, AliExpress, eBay, etc. those sensors register the bed sensor points at 2mm or so. This PINDA registers the bed at 4mm, allowing for more reliable sensing. Additionally, it is shorter in length – so it fits better in the extruder Additionally, it is shorter in length – so it fits better in the extruder based mount. Finally- it is a drop in replacement for the actual PINDA from Prusa- other sensors require inverting the signal in the firmware. In short- this is the right part, and it just plain works very well. And- its not that much more expensive than a cheap clone. Totally worth getting this one- I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to printedsolid for making this available!!
